This Privacy Policy explains how Pont (“Pont,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Pont macOS app, our website at pont-app.com, and related services (the “Service”). We built Pont to be privacy-first and to collect only what we need to make it work.

1. Information you provide

Account information, such as your name and email address when you sign in.
Communications, such as messages you send to support.
Payment information, which is handled by our payment processor; we do not store full card numbers.

2. Information from your use of the app

To generate real-time suggestions while a session is active, the app processes:

audio from your microphone and, with your permission, system audio from your Mac;
screenshots you choose to capture; and
transcribed text derived from that audio.

Speech is transcribed on your device using Apple’s speech recognition, and the resulting text (along with any captured text) may be sent to third-party AI providers to produce responses. We aim to process this content only while a session is active and to retain as little as possible.

3. Information collected automatically

We may collect limited technical and usage data — such as app version, device type, general diagnostics, and basic analytics — to keep the Service reliable and to improve it. On our website we may use cookies or similar technologies for essential functionality and analytics.

4. How we use information

to provide, maintain, and improve the Service;
to generate the suggestions you request;
to process payments and manage subscriptions;
to communicate with you about the Service; and
to protect the Service and comply with legal obligations.

5. Third-party AI providers

Pont relies on third-party AI providers, including OpenAI and Google, to process conversation text and screenshots and return responses. When you use these features, the relevant content is sent to those providers and handled under their own terms and privacy policies. If you use your own API keys, your usage is also subject to your agreements with those providers.

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:

with service providers who help us operate the Service (such as hosting, analytics, and payment processing), under appropriate confidentiality obligations;
when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security; and
in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.

7. The overlay stays private to you

Pont’s on-screen overlay is designed to be visible only to you and is not shared with the other participants on your call.

8. Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described here or as required by law, then delete or de-identify it. You can request deletion as described below.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, or to request deletion of your data, contact us at help@pont-app.com. You can also stop a session at any time and manage app permissions in macOS System Settings.

11. Children

The Service is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

12. International transfers

We may process and store information in countries other than yours. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

13. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated Policy with a new “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
